The Turner Times: 11 months: Walking and Talking!

Weight: probably close to 21 pounds
Height: barely over 27 inches
Head: still big :) We will have more info at the 12 month check up!
Moods: Happy as a clam except when you get in the way of her walking to something she wants to explore..such as a cabinet full of cleaning supplies...then she likes to throw a short temper tantrum.
Favorite foods: Veggie Straws, turkey hot dogs and apple this month
Favorite new toy: any electrical outlet or item that is dangerous to play with
Sounds: "t" and other babbles...we think we have a first word! (see below)
Favorite hobbies: Walking EVERYWHERE! Grace can pull up and take off now...she walks all throughout the house without falling; she can turn as well and is very steady. She falls here and there but unless she is near something to pull up on, she can't get up...thankful we are completely mobile yet :)
Playtime: Swinging in swings at the park! There have been many tears shed over swing departures.
Sleep habits: same: Nap #1: 9-10; Nap #2: 1-3 (wahoo!); Nighttime: 7-7. When the time changed she slept until close to 8 for a week and was going to bed closer to 7:30 but we are back to our normal sleeping now.
Sign Language: So even though I only consistenly taught Grace the sign for "more" we are working on "please" and "thank you" although she is understanding a lot of communication with words only, so I probably won't be doing too much sign language.
Teeth: Bottom: 4!; Top: 4.
First word! Grace has been saying "dada" pretty consistently but Jimmy is confident she doesn't really know what she is saying, so it doesn't count (I disagree). Jimmy alway tickles Grace and says "tickle, tickle" when he does this. When he was tickling her last night she was repeating what he said. He is 100% confident that "tickle" is her first word...but I still think it's dada. Check out the video below and you tell me :)

Also this month featured Match Day which is the day when 4th year medical students find out where they will be going for residency. Everyone knew we wanted to stay at Wake and that was our number one choice, but with Match Day things can be unpredictable. Jimmy ended up ranking 11 places. We were praying for God's will, even if that meant uprooting us and moving...God was completely faithful and we matched here at Wake! I am incredibly proud of Jimmy, if you can't tell :) We sent out messages to all of our family and friends and are just SO thankful to be staying in Winston for another 4 years...maybe more after that because we love it so much :) Thank you to all of you who prayed for us! We could not be happier!!
