I have always remembered birthdays being a big deal in our family. We would celebrate our actual birthday, have a family birthday party, and sometimes have a separate birthday party with friends when we were younger. That's why I always joke about having a "birthday week". Birthdays are special and people should be celebrated!
Our Grace is no exception. She had a great birthday party on Saturday, April 12. Her actual birthday is April 15 which fell on a Tuesday this year. Jimmy was at the hospital all day and we knew he wouldn't get home until late since he was on home call (works differently on CT than other rotations).
Since Jimmy was going to be gone all day, I wanted Grace to have videos from family so she wouldn't miss him as much (she's very much a daddy's girl).
Daddy
Memere and Pepere
Uncle Jordan
Aunt Kristin, cousins Jackson and Zackary
Wesley woke up bright and early to help me finish prepping Grace's decorations in the house.
I re-used her birthday banner from the party.
Chris gifted Grace some window chalk that served the perfect purpose for decorating the door!
Grace LOVES balloons.

I set out unopened cards and opened cards for fun. She loves chocolate chip muffins. The crown was from pre-school the day before. They sang happy birthday to her :)
Happy 3rd birthday, Grace!
We took all of the donations from the party t the Children's Home of Winston-Salem. I think we will make that a birthday tradition. I think every kid deserves a special day, but I also want her to think of others even if it is her birthday.
Special lunch cupcake. It was supposed to be a cupcake flower (with marshmallows at the petals) but the petals were kind of heavy, so they started to fall off. Harris Teeter had some cute cupcakes and I knew she would like this one even if it did fall apart.
Aunt Kristin and Uncle Lance's gift came in the mail ON her birthday! That was perfect because we let Grace open all of her presents the weekend before. Jimmy made it home JUST in time to play Legos with Grace.
And to read the birthday girl a story :)
Happy Birthday to our sweet Grace! May you grow to exude the meaning of your name, love others unconditionally, and come to know your Lord and Savior Jesus Christ by choice and not force.
