Christmas Day 2014

This Christmas (just like last year) was spent in our own house.  There is something sweet about not having to rush off anywhere, being able to clean up all the fun, play with the kids, and enjoy some relaxing family time.  Jimmy had Christmas day off this year, but that was it.  He has a pretty rough schedule coming up this next week, so pray for him!

Setting up is so much fun!  Grace had no idea about her pop-up princess tent that can be used indoors and outdoors.  As mentioned in another post, Santa just does some stocking stuff.  Jimmy wants the kids to know that the "big and cool presents are from US".

Wesley's seesaw (okay it' really for both of them, but we had to say it was for him...poor second child!)

Not a creature was stirring :)

We figured he would love the boxes...but didn't think about the bows!

Gotta include the furry pups (who knows where Ellie went)

The climbing stage that may never end

Yep.  She's on cloud nine.

Jimmy's marinade

Yummy steaks!  I could get used to this as a tradition :)  We timed it perfectly and ate while the kids napped.  It was fantastic!

Christmas day play

I cannot end this post without mentioning that this Christmas was bittersweet.  While we had a wonderful day together, the days leading up to Christmas were difficult.  It was this time last year that Jimmy's aunt Laura passed away unexpectedly.  We sent some balloon messages up her way earlier this week.  This was also the first Christmas without Jimmy's grandpa Jim.  While Christmas is a time to celebrate the birth of our Savior, we also acknowledge that Christmas can be a difficult time for people.  Please pray for Jimmy's family and all families that are dealing with loss or the remembrance of loss this year.
