March Family Update 2016 with Ultrasound Video

March was a good month...we celebrated my 30th birthday and Easter (see previous posts) and then Spring Break was at the end of the month.  I didn't include the end of Spring Break, while that would have made sense, since April began...I'll include it in next month's post.  Family updates below pictures.

Grace and Wesley got to go with me to one of my check-ups.  They were doing some genetic testing (I can't remember doing that with the kids but it was covered) and I got to have an unexpected ultrasound.  The kids were so precious in their reactions to seeing and hearing their sibling.

We went to Jump and Fun and expended a lot of energy :)  Grace's slide shot.

Wesley's slide shot (he was pretty terrified looking coming down as he lost his center...but then he did it many more times).

Jimmy has spent a lot of time making our backyard look good (I've been a little time putting fresh pine straw around the house as well).  Grace was outside and Jimmy happened to find some worms.  He let her have some to play with.  Her first pet worm lived a total of 5 minutes.  Grace yells out, "Uh oh, I think I broke my worm. But both parts are still moving...I guess that's okay."  LOL.  We taught better pet caring skills and then released all the worms at the end of the day.

More sentence writing with Grace: "The leaves are rainbow colors".  She stretched out all the sounds as you can tell and that's progress!

We kicked off Spring Break in a scary fashion.  I had to work on Thursday but the kids were out of pre-school, so we had a babysitter come over.  I got home, got the kids settled, and then went to make lunch.  I dropped a piece of food and Ellie came running to eat some.  I called for Maverick and he didn't come.  I checked around the house to see if Grace had kidnapped him in her room...nope.  I check out back; nothing.  My heart started pounding.  Ellie is our escapee (under the fence) but she never really goes anywhere.  This wasn't like Maverick.  I soon realized he was missing...I called everywhere for him in the woods behind our house but he didn't come.  I called Jimmy crying, like any good and smart wife, haha.  Then, I woke Wesley up and put Grace in the van as well.  We drove around looking for Maverick.  We made signs and posted them. We drove around some more.  Grace mentioned that she may have cracked the fence a little when she and Wesley were playing outside and I snapped at her.  I apologized. She felt terrible and said the Easter bunny shouldn't even visit now.  It was sad!  We looked for hours and were all tired.  I called animal control but no one answers the phone there to give details about dogs.  We prayed...a lot.  A few minutes after our last prayers, Jimmy texted "He's at animal control!".  We were SO excited.  Jimmy checked their website and noticed they posted a dog was brought in that had been found near our house about an hour and a half after he went missing.  We RUSHED out to animal control and prayed thankful prayers the whole way...it's almost a 30 minute drive from our house!  Someone found Maverick and drove him all the way out there so we could find him...we were so thankful.  I was able to go back to the holding area to confirm it was Maverick; he was shaking and terrified until he saw me.  It was such a happy moment!  The kids were happy and so were the adults.  Maverick is our baby, y'all.  He lived with Jimmy during his first year of medical school when we were engaged and living in separate states.  Maverick has been here through it all and the thought of not finding him was so sad.  Praise the Lord for answered prayers!  We went to get more legible dog tags and new collars the next day.  Never again will they go in the backyard without them!

Wesley and I kicked off Spring Break by making blueberry muffins while sissy was still sleeping.

Daddy has been on a rough rotation (CT: heart surgery).  He got home many nights around 8 or 9 pm...after having left the house at 5:30 a.m.  However, he got off early many days during our Spring Break which was such a blessing!  We took a spontaneous trip to Pilot Mountain as a family.  It was wonderful.

Jimmy is at the very top (such a kid at heart!) while Grace tries her hardest to catch up with him.

I zoomed in and look at that...Winston-Salem from Pilot Mountain.

Family!

Grace was super grumpy at first (because she fell asleep on the way and we had to wake her up) but when she saw all the rocks it turned into a huge adventure and she LOVED it.  They both did.  It was fun watching them explore.

Grace climbed up on a rock and started howling like a coyote, of course!  Wesley thought that was pretty clever and joined in on the fun.  These kids keeps life entertaining for sure :)

I took the kids to the mall for some fun and Chick-Fil-A for lunch.

We all got to witness a fight between two adult men.  Yeah.  Right out side the kid play area, too.  Grace said, "Mommy, why are they wrestling on the ground?"  No lies, y'all.  These two men broke out into a fight and the security guards had to come break it up and then the police showed up.  We escaped all that and went upstairs to ride the free carousel.

Wesley would eat this for every meal of the day if you let him.

Daddy got off work early another day during Spring Break so we all went to the driving range.  Wesley was interested for about two swings and then we went looking for sticks.  Grace, however, is SO interested in golf.  She goes playing with Jimmy pretty often and I was super impressed with her swings!

Jump and Fun with Blake (jumping somewhere else with Grace)!  This was Wesley's first time climbing up by himself..it's a tough climb!

Family Update
Wesley:  He has such a sweet soul!  He's your typical boy as well and loves his trucks, tractors, wrestling.  Sometimes his sissy gets sensitive and can't handle Wesley being rough...we think it's entertaining :)  He loves to sing "Jingle Bells", playing chase, coloring, and eating fruit snacks.  Our favorite thing he says right now is "acuz" instead of "because" and often says "Here my are!" when playing hide and seek.
Grace: She will be 5 on April 15.  Yeah.  We did find out she will be going to kindergarten at the same school where I work part-time right, so that's an answered prayer.  It has been a long road to figure out the best place for her and we are all excited.  It's a great school and she will be exposed to a lot of diversity and great programs the school offers.  Kindergarten orientation is at the end of April...ready or not!
Kristen: I began my internship for graduate school this month!  I've been mostly observing and taking notes but will get to start being more involved by leading meetings and helping with other administrative tasks.  It has been great experience so far.  It's a 16 week internship and I graduate in May!
Jimmy: As I mentioned above, Jimmy was on CT this month.  The days are long and exhausting for everyone involved.  We were so thankful he got a break towards the end.  He will go to OB next (giving pregnant women epidurals) and that can also be an exhausting rotation because they switch you back and forth between day and night shifts.  He starts with a string of night shifts and we'll be glad when they are over.  More than anything, we are grateful Jimmy enjoys what he does and is good at it.  We are at the end of residency and I just need to push through...it's been a long road!  We are so proud of him.  He will graduate from residency in June!
