I think I'll keep this monthly template for our blog...for now, at least. A picture journey followed by a brief update in words :)

Residency Update: This month, Jimmy was on inpatient cardiology. That means he spent everyday rounding, admitting, planning the care for patients and discharging cardiology patients in the hospital. He wasn't in surgery; he mainly dealt with people that stayed overnight and was assigned a certain number of patients each day. Jimmy is GREAT when dealing with patients. He is a wonderful teacher, simplifying information so people understand it and also genuinely cares for the people in his care. Although I do not have specific stories of patients or names (private information!) to share, I can still tell you all I am one proud wifey! Jimmy worked 5:30 a.m.-7:00 p.m. most days. One of his three vacation weeks for the year fell at the end of this rotation so that was refreshing (blog post to come...). This week he will begin a whole month of nights on vascular surgery. I am prepping myself and Grace for the worst, as I usually do, so we will hopefully be pleasantly surprised; and if not, we'll be thankful for the times when daddy is home! He will have Fridays off so we'll look forward to that as well. Be praying for sleep adjustment from night time sleep to day time sleep and the endurance to work through each night shift.
Interests: stuffed animals (Pooh and Tigger especially), any type of play kitchen, kisses :), books and AIRPLANES...obsessed with them!
Sleep habits:
Naptime: 12:00 (2-3 hour nap each day)
Bedtime: 7 p.m.-7:30 a.m. this month
Favorite foods: edamame, graham crackers, pasta, Frosties (sp) from Wendy's, Chick-Fil-A grilled nuggets and fries...I know, healthy, haha. We don't have them often!
Sign Language: I am taking sign language off from now on as Grace is incredibly verbal and while she still uses her signs, she also uses the words thus bringing an end to the need of signing for now.
Teeth: 14
Words spoken: I kid you not, Grace's verbal language has skyrocketed! There is no way to sit down and tell you how many words she says, as she repeats a ton of words, but I will tell you it is a blessing to watch her grow, verbally that is, even is she has learned to say, "No!"
Firsts: Broken arm :( see previous post, weekend with Memere, painted toenails, Mother's Morning out 2012 (pre-preschool)
