As a new parent, I remember getting sick of hearing people say, "they grow up so fast!" Now that I am "experienced" (haha) I never get sick of hearing it; in fact, I find myself saying it to others. I feel like I am appreciating all of Wesley's firsts even more this time around because I know he won't be my little snuggly, chunky monkey for long.

Thank goodness for beautiful weather! Spring has invited us outdoors a lot already.
I am thankful for Wesley's multiple naps during the day. I LOVE having time for just Grace and I. I plan all kinds of things but we usually end up playing and goofing off. It won't be cool to play with mom one day, right?
Our chewing monster
Oh, my. I'm sorry son, this will be put in your wedding slideshow one day. We LOVE his legs.
Levi and Wesley are growing up together! Sweet, smiling babies.
Grace and her best buddy, Brooke, at Tanglewood Park. They will be 3 years old this month!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! (phone picture=blurry)
Maddie is in Grace's preschool class. Maddie's birthday party was at one of Grace's favorite places: gymnastics!
"ta-da!"
Jimmy was gone late one evening so we decided to be spontaneous and go out to dinner, just the three of us. Grace asked for pancakes so we went here anyone would go to get those...IHOP! Did you know that kids eat free on Tuesdays at IHOP? Grace enjoyed her happy face pancake. She at all of it...no lie!
"Weswee is upset, Mommy". Yes, he was. As soon as the food hit our table at IHOP, Wesley changed his mind about being happy. He fell asleep on the drive home so we pulled out a table and our leftovers for a living room feast.
Grace is the best big sister I could have ever imagined. She loves her little brother in case you can't tell :) He loves her equally.
One of my best friends from college, Liz, came to visit one day. Her little boy, Henry, was born in September. Wesley and Henry will be buds!
Grace enjoyed having two babies around for the day.
Liz brought this cool necklace which is made for teething babies (called Chew Beads). Henry enjoyed it and clearly Grace did as well, haha!
Aunt Cindy came to visit for the day since daddy was on call. Those are long days. Fortunately, Aunt Cindy doesn't live too far away. We love having her come visit!

One of Grace's favorite things to do is to help bathe Wesley.
It just so happens to be one of Wesley's favorite things, too!
We had dinner with the Cloers one night and I had to run and grab my camera to prove how awesome they are with our kids :) Uncle David is throwing Grace in the air (her favorite) and Aunt Lulu is loving on Wesley. My heart is so happy when I see other people love on our kids. Who gets to live next door to some of their best friends? We do. We are grateful for that each and every day.

Look at those baby blues
I thought this pictures was hilarious. Maverick is such a pansy. He's scared of everything, including being picked up like this.
Daddy-son bonding time
Wesley gets really excited about eating rice cereal. He always tries to grab the bowl and spoon.
My three loves
I'm so glad I captured this moment on camera. Grace was playing peek-a-boo with Wesley. If you want to catch Wesley smiling (which he does a lot these days) you can almost guarantee Grace is in sight. He is completely entertained by her and she loves entertaining, so I guess we have a good match!
He's getting really good at sitting up. I remember Grace was sitting independently by the end of 5 months. I believe Wesley will too, unless he continues to be more interested in rolling around the room!
One day Wesley is attempting to roll from back to belly and the next day he does it!
Evidence!
Wesley at 5 months:
Weight:/Height/Head: will have after 6 month appointment
Moods: Increasingly more happy! Everyone says he is such a happy baby and it's true.
Favorite foods: Milk; I may tried some homemade banana puree this month.
Favorite toy: A few pictures above the video clip...I don't know what it's called but it rolls around the floor and he loves it. Honestly, it has motivated him to move around on his own.
Sounds: Laughing, giggling, squealing, you name it :)
Favorite hobbies: Rolling around the floor and watching Grace
Sleep habits: I've come to accept that just because Grace was sleeping 7 p.m.-7 a.m. doesn't mean that Wesley will just yet. Wesley naps GREAT. He takes 2-3 naps a day and if it's two naps, they last a few hours. Wesley usually goes to bed around 7. He usually sleeps until 7 a.m. However, Wesley is up twice a night in between 7 and 7. There have been a few nights when he was only up once and that felt great. I'm still deciding if I am just going to keep feeding him or let him cry it out. We have tried letting him cry it out and the boy doesn't stop...like after 2 hours he was still going on multiple nights. It's easier for me to just go in, feed him in about 10 minutes, and then everyone goes back to bed.
Clothing Size: 6 months
Big sister update: You know how I talked about Grace being sassy last month? Guess what??? It didn't go away :) Haha. Grace has been better about her attitude towards me. I can imagine how frustrated God feels with his children on some days. There was some quote I saw about being frustrated with kids for being exactly the way the parents are. Truth. I'm in prayer constantly on a day to day basis for patience and I have especially felt God gift it to me this month. I have learned to try to not to let my children's moods affect my mood because then it all goes downhill from there. Seeing Grace be such an amazing big sister has been rewarding. She gets SO excited when he does something for the first time. Looking at my two babies makes my heart warm!
Kristen's work update: I'll be developing English Language Arts cases for a few more months. In June, my contact expires. Since I'm part-time for a non profit company, my contract is year to year. In the next several months I should be finding out what my work will look like next year and if they'll be able to keep me on board. I love working where I do and they value my work, so be in prayer that I'll be able to continue!
Residency Update: The first half of the month seemed to be difficult because Jimmy had some yucky call schedules where he was gone a lot. The second half of the month has been wonderful! Jimmy is on something called the PAC (pre operative anesthesia clinic...I think) so his hours are fantastic. He has been home by 3 some days! He also has had two weekends off in a row...that's crazy people! We are soaking up our time with daddy before he starts a new rotation next week. He'll be starting CT (heart surgery cases) and CT is apparently one of the most difficult rotations because of time demands. The surgeries last a long time and are unpredictable. Please be in prayer for Jimmy as he will be managing anesthesia for very sick patients.
