Bible Journey Curriculum Part 9

Since my last post about this curriculum we have learned how to talk to God.  The Jesus storybook bible has a fantastic Lord's prayer for kids (picture below somewhere).  It's written as a child would talk to their daddy, which is what God is; it's beautiful.  We also learned about Jesus telling people not to worry about the clothes they will wear or the food they will eat.  The birds and flowers don't worry about these things and God loves us more than them.  We also learned how Jesus said, "HUSH!" and the storm listened!

I found this on Amazon and had it set aside for our long car ride down to Florida.  Grace has enjoyed it and I really like the pages included in the activity pad.  It's not as much a doodle pad but more focused "learning" pages that you really need to sit and do with your child.

Painting formula containers: we ended up just painting them and then using them as drums :)

Toothpick painting

Rice sensory bin (we did this with the Little Learners curriculum)
It's always nice to re-visit play ideas!

Adrienne, one of my co-workers, gave me a box of some craft items that included these awesome crayons!  They are great for learning the correct grip.  I've already shared with some friends but I have a few more left if anyone would like one!

We used a print off of the Lord's prayer to practice coloring inside the lines.  I would color inside a shape with a certain color and then Grace would do the mirror image.

Here's the cute prayer from the Jesus Storybook bible

Jesus and his friends were on a boat when Jesus decided to take a nap.  A storm came to the sea and the waters got all shook up (blue colored water and oil).

Then Jesus said, "hush" and the waters listened!

Shaving cream fun: we practiced tracing letters and shapes

Chalk spray: I drew letters, words, and shapes.  Grace was told to squirt a certain shape or I would make a letter sound and she would have to squirt the letter.  She did an AWESOME job!

Random painting inside the lines; she asked me to draw a snow monster.  You know your kid loves the movie Frozen when she asks for that.
