My parents bought us a membership to the Children's Museum as one of our Christmas gifts. As I was looking through their calendar, I noticed a "Daddy-Daughter Dance" for Valentine's Day. I knew I had to sign these two up for it!
Friday, February 13th was the dance. I actually had to work out of town all day and Jimmy was off. He took the kids to pre-school and then went to the store to get flowers for his date :) So sweet! I couldn't have picked a better father for our children...good thing God is in charge of that!
To say these two adore one another is an understatement. It's ridiculously precious to see these two together...
Grace made a Valentine craft for us at preschool.
A month of love letters. I think I saw something like this on Pinterest. I bought some foam hearts and every few days this month Jimmy and I have been writing things we love about the kids. One side for Wesely, one side for Grace.
I planned on making a nice Valentine's breakfast, but then I heard that Chick-Fil-A was making heart shaped biscuits...DONE.
I love surprising the kids. While Wesley is clueless, Grace LOVES being surprised. I remember waking up on Valentine's Day to a place mat full of sweets and surprises, so I like to do the same with my kids. Wesley got some animal figures from the Dollar Tree (they have a great selection!). Grace got some slippers, candy, card games, and a few other things.
Conversation hearts science experiment: A glass of water and a glass of vinegar. Put some hearts in each glass. Stir. Observe after nap time. Both liquids made the hearts dissolve.
After nap time (well, rest time for this one...she naps some days, but mostly rests while reading books)
My Valentine also got flowers and chocolates for me. Grace and I baked Jimmy a giant cookie for his gift.
Since Jimmy was on home call, we made our own special dinner. Jimmy grilled steaks, I sauteed some green beans and almonds, a sweet potato (for Jimmy), and boiled some lobster claws (for myself). It was way cheaper than paying for a babysitter and a meal out somewhere!
