October Family Update...in November

October was a busy month for us...I've posted several updates in this month already.  Besides birthdays and trips, we had other things going on.

Timmy is officially a Cloer now!  We were blessed to witness the signing ceremony and his "forever day".  What a wonderful thing to celebrate!!

This girl :)

And that boy!

Blake and Grace making cookies together for fun

Sibling movie time

Snow cones at soccer

Grace hasn't been napping a lot, but sometimes it gets the best of her and she falls asleep.  I let her rest on the couch one day and when it got quiet, I looked over to see this sweet face asleep.

Girls night out celebrating Christine being finished with her boards!!

October marks the beginning of friendship bread making season.

Happy Halloween from these goobers!

I was picking the kids up from my girlfriend's house after working a full day (I normally work half days).  Grace ran around the corner to get her shoes and went head first into a kitchen cabinet...I have NEVER seen a bump like this!  It swole up fast and, naturally, Grace was a hot mess about it.  Fortunately Caitlin, my girlfriend, is a P.A. at pediatric neurosurgeon's office...right??  I was so thankful she was there to help calm Grace down, evaluate her, and give some tips on what to look for.  The next morning her bump was incredibly smaller and she didn't seem to have any other issues with it.  Scary!

The dogs were forced into playing dress up with Grace...except they were dressed in felt pieces and she was dressed as a princess...evil step-sister??

Wesley randomly asked to sleep in his big boy bed for nap time one day.  He slept there the whole time and hasn't wanted to sleep in it since...haha.

Wesley is growing up so fast...his speech has dramatically increased this month.  He went from saying one word phrases to speaking in short sentences.  It's ridiculous!  On the way back from from Charlotte after our San Diego trip we were asking about fun things they did.  Wesley said, "I go zoo.  I see lion!".  He is such a big boy now!!!  His 2 year check up in in a week or so.
Grace is a mini-me...it's just true.  You know how frustrated you get with your kid sometimes only to realize it's because they got it from you??  Yeah.  She's learning a lot at pre-school and we LOVE her teachers.  I'm so thankful for her being able to do cute crafts and fun things at school since I am not able to organize all of that at this point in my life...work and grad school like to tag team up on me some weeks.  Anyways, we are looking forward to entering this holiday season with Grace because of how much she understands and can't wait to teach her more about WHY we celebrate the holidays.
I (Kristen) am  thankful this month is over!  The first HUGE round of testing took place and since I'm new at this job, well, that just didn't help much.  I have a great team at school that helped me get through it, but it was a tough couple of weeks.  Put grad school on top of that and well, I was feeling overwhelmed.  Things will settle down with both work and grad school soon, so I am grateful for that.
Jimmy is on ambulatory something this month...I know it has the word ambulatory in it.  He still has two research projects going on, but the hospital hired a research assistant for him and that has been a huge help.  The resident interview season is upon us so once a week Jimmy goes to a dinner to talk with applicants and try to sell Wake to people :).  He's good at it.  I get to go sometimes, but haven't been able to quite yet.

You can pray for us to focus on our gifts in healthy ways by not overloading our schedules.  I've been having to say no to a lot of things, but it is for the best.  Pray that we teach our children effectively that things are not important...people are.  That's been a struggle recently.  Children surely are born sinful, but we are thankful for a gracious and loving Savior and pray our children come to know him one day!
