6 month photo shoot at Old Salem

If you haven't heard me brag about my good friend, neighbor, and talented photographer Lindsay Cloer, then you are about to in this blog post! Lindsay and her husband David were the first people we met when we moved to Winston Salem and moved into our new home. We heard a knock at the door after being in the home a few days and who was it? It was Lindsay with a welcome gift card to Family Video. That's Lindsay though, always thinking of someone else. Not only was she thinking of us when we got pregnant, but she was also thinking about Grace. You don't realize how important pictures are until you go through something really special or something sad. Pictures capture memories because no matter how old you are, you forget what life was like in certain moments.

In our fortunate case (as I am listening to the Elmo radio station on Pandora in the background haha) we are remembering something really special: the birth and growth of our precious baby girl, Grace. When Lindsay said she would gift us a 1 year photo package for Grace, I was appreciative but don't think I really grasped how BIG of a gift that would be. Lindsay was at the hospital when Grace was born and did a newborn photo shoot a few days later. When Grace was 3 months it was time for another photo shoot and I think you get the picture that every 3 months we get a priceless photo shoot. This time it was Grace's 6 month photo shoot but what was special about this shoot is that our whole family got to be photographed.

Each month Jimmy and I find ourselves looking back at those hospital pictures, (mainly to laugh at how blown up I looked and Grace's funny face pics) the newborn pictures, and the 3 month pictures. Every time we look at the pictures we say, "I can't believe how much Grace has grown..." or "Do you remember what that was like?" Even if we forget certain moments, we have the next best thing, and that would be our precious pictures courtesy of Lindsay.

So, even though Thanksgiving isn't for a month, for this blog post I am thankful for a wonderful neighbor who gives and gives and gives of herself. Hopefully I will be able to pay her back someday :)

Love,
Jimmy, Kristen, and Grace
