Some people really do care soo much that it makes me feel so amazingly blessed! I have had TWO more baby showers for Grace (feels wonderful to call her by name). One baby shower was a joint baby shower thrown by the fourth and fifth grade teachers at my school. The other baby shower was a diapers and essentials shower thrown by my neighors Lindsay and Jessica, and my friend Holly.
The school baby shower was creative because it was a book shower. Everyone that came was to bring a book instead of a card, and a baby gift. I LOVE my school family and they really went all out! The food was delicious, (the cake was even a book!) the decorations were beautiful, and the company was even better :) Gretchen and I opened gifts together from each grade level and ended up with a car full of books and baby gifts...what a blessing it was.
My diapers and essentials shower was also creative because it was a "stock your nursery" themed shower. The guests were given a list of essentials to bring as a gifts instead of the normal gifts off of the registry. I was spoiled because a lot of people brought BOTH types of gifts and I was overwhelemed with presents! The shower was decorated with Winnie the Pooh to the max, which I loved. We played some fun baby games and the coolest part was that at the end everyone grabbed a gift and walked next door to my house to get a tour of Grace's nursery! That was a perk of having the shower right next door...
After this shower I realized the only two things we needed were breast pump and pack n play. Jimmy's parents came to the rescue and shipped both items to us this week! Everything is ready in the Turner household now including mom's hospital bag, Grace's hospital bag, and the car seat is strapped in to the car. All we need now is Grace!!
