Grace turned 9 on April 15. We had planned a long weekend getaway in the mountains with a surprise to the Tweetsie Railroad and naturally, it had to be canceled. Grace handled it like a complete champ and understood that there were much bigger things going on right now. However, if you know how big of a deal birthdays are to mommy, then you know we were all going to make it special for Grace.
Grace has overcome some anxiety this past year, loves everything bunnies, practices gymnastics a lot and (wants to be like Simone Biles), loves creating things, got paid to babysit for the first time (Jimmy was home), is super intelligent, an avid reader of Greek mythology, and an overall wonderful human being. Thank you Lord for the gift of her life.
Birthday breakfast from Krispy Kreme, our tradition
Jimmy walked in to see this and asked, "Is is Christmas??" Haha, no but everyone should feel extra special on their birthday...so, mommy had to do it!
We were going to order something but I wasn't 100% sure who was making baked goods and when we saw the idea about bunny cupcakes (bunnies are her thing) she wanted to help make them herself.
Surprise Zoom! We got to speak to Jimmy's parents and sisters as well. Thank you everyone!
I was going to chalk-erate the night before but it started sprinkling. So, I woke up at 5 am and spend over an hour decorating our whole driveway...it was so fun to surprise her! I have the video somewhere...maybe I'll add that in July, lol.
Anna Ruth picked out Grace's favorite flavor gummy bear and put them in a bag. She has a touch of sweet in her after all!
Greek mythology is also her thing
A sweet neighbor girl dropped this off for Grace...made me tear up. Such a thoughtful and kind thing to do! Also, our college aged neighbor across the street saw the chalk and brought over a gift for Grace as well. SO grateful for our neighborhood during COVID19.
We had a few surprise guests and an overall really fun day!
