April 2020: Remote Learning

April Remote Learning: Taking a turn for desperate
April was a tough month...still maneuvering working full time from home, home schooling 2, and a threenager about did me in.  Seriously, it was just plain hard.  Even with Jimmy around some as he had more time off...it was just hard.  We learned to communicate each night about schedules for the following day, made adjustments within schedules that fit our family, took breaks and got outside a lot, but it was still exhausting.

Anna kept coming out of her room during nap/bed time.  Grace and Wesley have never really struggled with that (shocker...Anna is NOT a rule follower) so we created a stamp chart.  Our first goal was 5 stamps...she had to stay in her room 5 times (nap or bed) to get a stamp.  Then, she got to choose the reward once she got to her goal.  Her reward?  Sour gummy worms.

Good job, nugget!

Grace has been baking a good bit and that has organically turned in to some good math conversations.

Cute board game (thanks Nana!) the kids have liked.

Writing

Sensory bins...why didn't I think of this sooner??  They were all enthralled.

My favorite writing sample of Wesley's so far during remote learning
