Addie Mae Brownlee

This is Addie Mae Brownlee.  She grew up and lived in Due West, SC.  Liz and I volunteered for the Widow's Ministry in college in hopes of getting involved with a good organization.  We visited Addie Mae weekly bringing her food, mail, taking her to doctor's appointments, ran errands and more importantly we just sat and talked with her.  Addie Mae has been in pain for a long time so it was fitting that the Lord took her home this past weekend.  I didn't think it would be so hard hear about someone going home to be with the Lord.

Since I graduated from college in 2008, we have kept up with Addie Mae by sending her packages and letters.  She loved talking on the phone as well and called Grace her "sweet baby".  I would smile ear to ear whenever we talked on the phone because Addie Mae was so precious.  Addie Mae was the inspiration for the Salem Widow's Ministry which I started in Winston-Salem this year.  It's bittersweet hearing about her passing but mostly sweet because she has been in pain for years and ready to go to her heavenly home.  So thankful the Lord put us in HER life.  Over time I realized how much of a blessing she was to us and we'll miss her for sure.
